The Importance of The Word

Each week as I write another article, I am reminded that the purpose of this column is to share The Word; the written word of God and Jesus who is The Word of God. In reality nothing outside of Jesus and the Bible and the changes that they make in the lives of people really matters.

There is a problem, however, and that is that Christians in the developed world have such access to Bibles, Christian radio/television, Christian books/magazines, churches, sermons, and Christian tapes/CDs that we no longer look at the Word of God as the miracle that it is. We’ve become so use to having ready access to God’s Word that it no longer holds a special place in our hearts and lives.

The same cannot be said for the millions of people around the world who do not have the Bible in their heart language. The following video was sent to me by one of our missionaries. It is at the same time, heart-wrenching and wonderful. As you watch it, praise God for His grace but also let it speak to your heart about the place that His Word needs to have in your life.
